Copyright & Takedown Policy

Last updated: August 2026

American Home Opportunities is an independent editorial publication about affordable rural property in the United States. This page explains what we publish, what we own, what we do not own, and how to ask us to remove something.

What We Own

All written content on this website — our property analysis, market research, county data compilations, state buying guides, AHO Score ratings, editorial verdicts and video narration — is original work created by American Home Opportunities and is protected by copyright. The same applies to our logo, our maps, our charts, our illustrations and the design of this site.

If you would like to quote or reference our work, you are welcome to do so with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. Republishing our articles in full, with or without attribution, is not permitted.

Property Photographs — What We Do Not Own

Photographs of individual properties shown on this website come from the public listing for that property. We reproduce them for the purpose of identifying, describing and commenting on the specific listing under discussion — the same way a publication reviewing a book reproduces its cover, or a publication covering a film uses a still from it.

We do not own these photographs and we make no claim to them. Copyright in each image remains with whoever created it — typically the listing agent, the brokerage, the photographer they hired, or the multiple listing service that syndicated it. American Home Opportunities receives no payment for displaying them and derives no licensing revenue from them.

Our practice is consistent across every property we publish:

  • Every property we feature links directly to its original public listing, so readers can view the source, verify the details and contact the listing agent.
  • Photographs appear alongside our own written analysis of that specific property. They are the subject of the commentary, not decoration.
  • We credit the source of property photographs where they appear.
  • We do not remove, obscure or alter watermarks, agent branding or copyright notices.
  • We do not sell, license, redistribute or offer for download any property photograph.
  • We are not a real estate brokerage, we do not represent any buyer or seller, and we earn no commission on any sale.

Our coverage is intended to send interested buyers to the original listing, and in practice it does exactly that.

Stock and Illustrative Images

Images used to illustrate our state guides, market analysis and general articles — as opposed to photographs of specific listed properties — are either licensed stock imagery, created by us, or otherwise cleared for our use.

How to Request Removal of an Image or Content

If you hold the rights to a photograph or any other material published on this website and you would like it removed, we will remove it. We do not require you to argue the point with us and we will not ask you to justify the request.

Write to contact@americanhomeopportunities.com with the subject line “Content Removal Request” and include:

  1. The URL of the page on our site where the material appears.
  2. A description of the specific image or material — if there are several on the page, tell us which ones.
  3. Your name and the name of the company or brokerage you represent, if any.
  4. A brief statement that you hold the rights to the material, or are authorised to act for the person who does.
  5. An email address or phone number where we can reach you.

We aim to acknowledge every request within two business days and to remove the material within five. Where a property listing has been sold or withdrawn and the agent would prefer the coverage taken down entirely, we will do that too — just ask.

Corrections

If we have published something factually wrong about a property, a county or a market, we want to fix it. Write to the same address with the subject line “Correction” and we will investigate and update the article. Our full editorial standards are set out on our About page.
