Contact

There is one address for everything, and a person on the other end of it. Write to contact@americanhomeopportunities.com and your message goes straight to the inbox we actually read.

We would rather answer a real question well than collect submissions through a form nobody reads. Tell us what you are trying to work out and we will tell you what we know.

What People Usually Write About

  • A property we covered. Questions about a house from one of the weekly tours or written breakdowns — what the acreage really looks like, what we could not tell from the photos, what we would check first.
  • A state you want next. We work through one state at a time. Requests genuinely move the queue, and the states people ask for repeatedly tend to get covered sooner.
  • A correction. If a number is wrong, a tax rate is out of date or a listing has changed, tell us. We would rather fix it than defend it.
  • A listing you found. If you have come across something that fits what we look for, send the link. Several properties we have featured started as a reader email.
  • Press, partnerships and sponsorship. Media kit requests and editorial collaborations go to the same address.

What We Can and Cannot Help With

Being straight about the limits saves everyone time:

  • We are not a brokerage and we are not licensed agents. We cannot show you a property, arrange a viewing, negotiate, submit an offer or represent you in a transaction.
  • We do not own or list the properties we feature. Each one belongs to its own agent, and every article links to the original listing. That link is the fastest route to the person who can actually sell you the house — faster than writing to us.
  • We cannot tell you whether to buy. We can tell you what we found, how we scored it and what we would want to verify before committing. The decision stays yours.
  • Listings move fast. By the time you write, a property may be under contract or off the market. We date every snapshot for that reason.

If You Are a Buyer’s Agent in a Rural Market

We are glad to hear from buyer’s agents working the rural markets we cover. Our readers are buyers, almost never sellers, so an agent who represents buyers in a specific state is the person whose knowledge is most useful to them — and to us. When we build a state guide we want someone who closes deals in that market to tell us what the data misses: which counties have water problems, where the road maintenance is private, what a buyer from out of state always underestimates. That kind of contribution is credited by name.

We are also putting together a sponsorship programme for our state guides — one buyer’s agent per state. It is not running yet. If that sounds like you, write to us and we will talk.

Who Answers

Angelo Gianolio, who founded American Home Opportunities and edits it, reads and answers the mail himself. Mark is the host you hear in the videos and read in the newsletter; the inbox is Angelo’s.

That means replies are not instant. It also means the answer comes from the person who did the research, rather than from a template. We read everything that arrives, including the messages we are slow to get back to.
